Livio Felluga Friulian 2022

 58

Livio Felluga's Friulano 2022 is a DOC Friuli Colli Orientali white wine that embodies the essence of Friuli, one of Italy's most renowned wine regions. This wine is produced exclusively from Friulano grapes, grown in the Ponca di Cormòns soils, characterized by marl and sandstone of Eocene origin. This soil composition gives the wine a marked minerality and a unique tangibility.

The winemaking process begins with the manual harvest of the grapes in the third decade of September, followed by a delicate destemming and short maceration. After a soft pressing, the must is fermented at a controlled temperature in stainless steel tanks, where it remains to mature on the lees for several months. This method gives the wine a creamy texture and increases its complexity and aging capacity. Once bottled, the wine further matures in temperature-controlled environments.

Visually it presents itself with an intense straw yellow color with golden reflections. On the nose, it offers a pungent and complex aromatic profile, with notes of ginger, medicinal herbs, citrus fruit, medlars and dried papaya. Floral notes of calla lilies and broom are also distinguishable, with a markedly mineral finish. On the palate it is smooth and stylish, offering generous and persistent fruity sensations, enriched by citrus notes and a pleasant mineral aftertaste.
