​The Valentin Leflaive Blanc de Blancs Extra Brut CV|18|30 is a Champagne of great elegance, produced exclusively with Chardonnay grapes from the prestigious terroirs of the Côte des Blancs, in particular from the villages of Cramant and Vertus.

The Chardonnay grapes, harvested from vineyards over 45 years old, are vinified separately to preserve the peculiarities of each parcel. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks, with the addition of 30% reserve wines matured in second passage barrels, previously used for the best wines of Burgundy. After assembly, the Champagne ages for over 42 months on its lees, developing complexity and finesse. The dosage is 3 g/l, classifying it as Extra Brut.

Golden yellow in color with bright reflections and a fine and persistent perlage, this Champagne offers notes of ripe fruit, such as white peach, accompanied by hints of brioche and toasted aromas. On the palate, the attack is creamy and complex, with a beautiful aromatic palette and a refreshing finish with notes of lime. The freshness, precision and slightly salty finish make this Champagne particularly pleasant.

The name “CV|18|30” indicates the origin and specific characteristics of this Champagne: “C” stands for the Grand Cru commune of Cramant, “V” for the Premier Cru terroir of Vertus, both renowned for high-quality Chardonnay. The number “18” indicates the 2018 harvest, which forms the basis of this Champagne, while “30” indicates the percentage of reserve wines used in the blend.

Maison Valentin Leflaive was born from the meeting between Olivier Leflaive, a renowned producer from Burgundy, and Erick De Sousa, an esteemed Champagne vigneron. This collaboration combines the Burgundian experience with the Champenoise tradition, giving life to Champagnes that best express the terroir of the Côte des Blancs.
