Vie di Romans Pinot Grigio Dessimis 2022

​The Pinot Grigio “Dessimis” 2022 by Vie di Romans is a white wine with great personality, which best expresses the characteristics of the Friuli Isonzo terroir.​

The Pinot Grigio grapes come from the “Dessimis” vineyard located in Mariano del Friuli, characterized by shallow soils with abundant skeleton and a reddish clay fraction, rich in iron and aluminum oxides, well drained. The harvest took place between August 30th and September 1st 2022. After destemming and cold skin maceration, the must fermented for 20-22 days at a controlled temperature (16-19°C). The wine did not undergo malolactic fermentation and was aged for 9 months on the lees in small barrels, followed by a further 8 months of bottle refinement.

“Dessimis” has a bright copper color. On the nose it offers an elegant and complex bouquet, with notes of pink grapefruit, geranium and red fruit. On the palate it is soft, creamy and enveloping, with a balanced freshness and a pleasant fruity juiciness.

The name “Dessimis” comes from the vineyard of the same name, which in Friulian dialect means “ten measures”, probably referring to a measure of land. Vie di Romans, under the guidance of Gianfranco Gallo, is known for its attention to quality and authentic expression of the territory, producing wines that reflect the tradition and innovation of Friuli Venezia Giulia.
