Gaja Sauvignon Alteni di Brasca 2017

 280

The Gaja Alteni di Brassica 2017 is a refined Sauvignon Blanc produced in the renowned Langhe area in Piedmont. This white wine is famous for its fresh vigor and its complex aromatic palette which reflects the excellence of the territory of origin.

Characterized by a bright golden color, Brassica's 2017 Alteni opens with intense aromatic notes of papaya and pineapple juice, enhanced by vegetal nuances of sage and a hint of vegetable sap. On the palate, the wine is bright, exhibiting vibrant flavors of tropical fruits such as mango and papaya, supported by lively acidity that lends freshness and aromatic persistence.

The early harvest that year allowed the aromatic freshness to be preserved and the fruit to be crunchy, with Gaia Gaja describing the grapes from that harvest as particularly concentrated, so much so that she compared them to “bonsai grapes”. This made the wine surprisingly fresh despite the hot season, with a complexity that is expressed through a pleasant surprise of freshness

Gaja Alteni di Brassica 2017 possesses considerable aging potential. Due to its structure and aromatic intensity, it can positively evolve in the bottle for at least 10-15 years from the time of harvest. Stored under optimal conditions, this wine should maintain its complexity and develop further aromatic nuances until at least 2032.
