TRENTODOC
Icon par excellence of Italian bubbles, Giulio Ferrari is a champion capable of winning the challenge against time. It is a Trentodoc obtained from the best Chardonnay grapes from the Lunelli family vineyards on the slopes of the mountains that surround Trento, up to 600 meters above sea level. Refine on the lees for over 10 years acquiring great complexity but at the same time maintaining balance, freshness and elegance. It is consecrated by an uninterrupted succession of awards and recognitions in Italy, where it has won the Gambero Rosso "Three Glasses" 24 times, and abroad, where it has obtained the highest scores from the most authoritative sector magazines including 98/100 by Decanter and 97/100 by Wine Advocate.
2009 vintage
The winter was particularly harsh and characterized by abundant rainfall. The delay with which the vegetative season started was however immediately recovered thanks to a very hot spring which brought the development of the vines back to average values already during flowering and fruit set. The good temperature ranges during the summer, with temperatures even above the seasonal averages, led to a harvest of perfectly healthy and aromatic rich grapes.
Tasting Notes
The appearance in the glass highlights golden reflections and a perlage of great persistence and refinement.
The olfactory onset is intense and immediately recalls floral notes of jasmine, but also of quince, blond orange and gingerbread. The taste does nothing but confirm the great richness that the perfumes allowed to glimpse. The sip is creamy but vibrant at the same time, made interminable by a pleasant iodized rush. The closure returns to notes of delicate spices and exotic fruit that lengthen the persistence and return to underline its extraordinary nobility.
