Bachelet-Ramonet Batard Montrachet grand cru 2020
€ 580
The Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru 2020 by Domaine Bachelet-Ramonet is a prestigious white wine, known for being one of the most excellent in Burgundy. This wine comes from a small area of 0.48 hectares, located on limestone soils mixed with clay, rich in stones, at an altitude of 225 meters, with direct exposure to the east. The grape used is Chardonnay, grown in vineyards planted in 2010.
The harvest of the grapes is manual, with a vinification that involves a cold pre-fermentative maceration, followed by a débourbage and an alcoholic fermentation with wild yeasts. The wine is then matured for 12 months in oak barrels, of which approximately 20% are new, thus perfecting its structure and complex aromatic characteristics.
When tasted, the Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru presents a golden appearance with green reflections. It offers a generous and intense nose, composed of dried fruits and white flowers, with aroma of toasted almonds and honey, as well as a buttery note resulting from barrel maturation. The palate is invited to enjoy the young wine for the freshness and liveliness of the fruit or, when more mature, for its rich sweet qualities.
This wine is ideal to keep for 3-10 years and is served at a temperature of 12-14°C. It pairs wonderfully with dishes such as savory pies, grilled fish, poultry or veal in a creamy sauce, as well as cheeses such as Cîteaux, Comté or goat's cheese.
