Girolamo Russo Etna Bianco Nerina 2023

 85

The Nerina Etna Bianco 2023 by Girolamo Russo is a DOC white wine that reflects the rich winemaking tradition of Etna. Composed of a blend of 70% Carricante and 30% of native Sicilian varieties, such as Catarratto, Minnella, Inzolia, Grecanico and Coda di Volpe, this wine is a true example of the typical nature of the territory.

The grapes come from vineyards located in the districts of San Lorenzo, Feudo and Calderara Sottana, located at an altitude of 650-800 meters on the northern side of Etna. These soils, strongly influenced by the volcano, are rich in minerals and give the wine particularly fresh and mineral notes.

The vinification involves fermentation in barriques with indigenous yeasts, followed by aging for 6 months in barriques and a further 2 months in steel, allowing the aromatic intensity and freshness of the wine to fully develop. The result is a light yellow wine with golden reflections, an elegant aroma of citrus fruits, white flowers and a trace of smoky minerality. On the palate, it is fresh and tasty, with a nice acidity that balances the alcohol and leaves a persistent sensation of cleanliness and complexity.

Nerina Etna Bianco is recommended to accompany fish and seafood dishes, underlining its characteristics of freshness and minerality.
