Radikon Orange Wine Ribolla Gialla 2016 0.5L

 84

The Radikon Ribolla Gialla 2016 is a white wine of great character, known for its innovative approach to winemaking. Produced in the Friuli Venezia Giulia region, this wine is made entirely from Ribolla Gialla grapes and follows natural winemaking methods that include long maceration on the skins.

The wine is fermented spontaneously with indigenous yeasts and without temperature control. After alcoholic fermentation, the wine remains in contact with the skins for three months, followed by aging for 40 months in oak barrels. These processes give the wine a unique complexity and structure, with a marked expression of the terroir.

At sight, the wine shows an intense color typical of orange wines. On the nose, complex aromas of ripe fruit, spices and dried fruit emerge. On the palate, the Radikon Ribolla Gialla 2016 offers a dry and complex sip, very fresh, with a savory aftertaste that invites another sip. Its three-dimensional structure and aromatic depth are the direct result of long maceration and prolonged aging.

Over the course of eight years, the 2016 Radikon Ribolla Gialla has developed greater aromatic complexity, with tertiary notes of dried fruit and honey enriching the bouquet. The tannic structure has softened, making the wine more rounded and accessible, while the color has taken on deeper shades of amber. The persistence of the flavors in the mouth extended, offering a long and evolving finish.

The Radikon Ribolla Gialla 2016 stands out for its intensity and complexity, the result of a year of production which favored optimal ripening of the grapes. The subsequent vintages, 2018 and 2019, while maintaining the distinctive style of the winery, may show variations in the aromatic profile and structure, influenced by the specific climatic conditions of each year.
