Rosazzo DOCG “Abbazia di Rosazzo” – Livio Felluga 2018

The Abbazia di Rosazzo 2018 by Livio Felluga is a prestigious white wine that celebrates a thousand-year history of viticulture in the historic vineyards of the Abbey of Rosazzo. This nobly complex wine is a blend of Friulano, Sauvignon, Pinot Bianco, Malvasia Istriana and Ribolla Gialla, reflecting the exceptional terroir of Rosazzo, known for its Eocene marly-sandy soils which confer significant benefits to the vines.

At sight it has a vibrant and shiny straw yellow. On the nose, it is fragrant and well balanced, with floral aromas of acacia, hawthorn and lime blossom, followed by fruity notes of melon, Golden Delicious apples, yellow peaches and dried apricots. There are also hints of freshly cut hay, medicinal herbs and sweet touches of candied and caramelized fruit, with spicy nuances of vanilla pod and star anise.

On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, elegant and voluminous, but at the same time vibrant. It offers refreshing sensations of cedar, mandarin and pineapple, which blend perfectly with the sweet notes of marzipan, panna cotta and crème brûlée. The structure is solid and persistent, with subtly spicy, Mediterranean and mineral notes in the finish.

Ideal in combination with fish dishes, oysters, caviar, raw fish and seafood, as well as white meats with delicate seasonings, this wine is a testimony to the excellence and winemaking history of Friuli-Venezia Giulia.
