Venica Dalia Maris “Piccolo Bianco” 2021

The “Piccolo Dalia Maris” 2021 by Venica is a white wine that captures the essence of the winemaking tradition of Friuli Venezia Giulia, expressing extraordinary refinement and complexity. This wine is a tribute to Giampaolo Venica's grandmother, Dalia, and is inspired by the Latin phrase "Stella Maris", a symbol of hope and freedom of exploration. Giampaolo, after several experiences in the Rhone Valley with Jean-Louis Chave, chose to innovate in Friuli, creating a wine that expresses the power of local varieties balanced by the salty minerality typical of the terroir.

Produced mainly from Friulano (80%) and Ribolla Gialla (20%) grapes, grown in eight different vineyard blocks, some on the hills and others in the valley bottom, with organic fertilization practices and the use of advanced technology for maximum respect for the fruit. Fermentation and maturation take place in such a way as to preserve the native qualities of the grapes, avoiding the excessive use of wood to maintain the freshness and authenticity of the wine.

Lively straw yellow colour, with a bouquet featuring notes of ripe white fruit, aromatic herbs and a marked minerality. On the palate, the wine is balanced, with a freshness that combines with a crunchy texture, typical of the expression of the Friulano and Ribolla Gialla vines, which culminates in a persistent and nuanced finish.

Ideal with fish and seafood dishes, also perfect with roast chicken and fresh cheeses. Its versatility makes it suitable both as an aperitif and as a companion to refined meals.

The name “Dalia Maris” is a tribute to the freedom to explore new horizons, reflecting Venica's commitment to overcome conventions and drive innovation in the Collio.
