Radikon Orange Wine Ribolla Gialla 2018 0.5L

The Radikon Ribolla Gialla 2018 Venezia Giulia IGT stands out for being an authentic expression of the Ribolla Gialla variety, grown in the Friuli Venezia Giulia region, famous for its winemaking traditions. The 0.5 liter bottle is emblematic of the artisanal and natural approach of the Radikon winery, reflecting the philosophy of winemaking that respects the rhythms of nature without the addition of additional chemicals.

Visually, the wine presents an intense golden yellow color, the result of a long maceration on the skins. Aromatically, it offers a complex bouquet with notes of ripe fruit, citrus, spices and a subtle hint of tea. On the palate, it is structured and elegant, with a pleasant acidity and a full flavor that brings together nuances of peach, apple, ginger, and a light tannic note that contributes to a long and persistent finish.

As regards winemaking, the Radikon Ribolla Gialla 2018 underwent spontaneous fermentation and maceration for 2-3 months in truncated cone-shaped oak vats, followed by aging in 25-35 hl oak barrels for 36 months, with some decanting if necessary, and a further 18 months in the bottle. The planting density is high, with 8,000 vines per hectare, and an average production of 30 hl per hectare, demonstrating the high quality and attention to detail in the management of the vineyards.

Regarding the aging of the Radikon Ribolla Gialla 2018, being already 2024, we can expect the wine to have further developed its aromatic notes and complexity on the palate. The long maceration and aging in wood give this wine a structure that allows excellent aging potential. The aromas of ripe fruit could have given way to more evolved notes of dried fruit, honey and spices, still maintaining that freshness and acidity that characterize Ribolla Gialla. The wine should be in a great time to be enjoyed now, but could continue to develop well for another 5-10 years, especially in a 0.5L bottle which tends to mature more quickly than larger formats.​
